Dr. Lisa Hanson
Dr. Lisa Hanson received her undergraduate training in Chemistry and Microbiology from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. After transferring to Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota, she completed her internship and received her Doctorate in Chiropractic. As part of her training, she obtained additional clinical hours in radiology and experience in pediatrics, sports injuries, and chiropractic research. She has also completed postgraduate studies in acupuncture, incorporating this valuable tool into her current practice.
Dr. Hanson is a diplomate of both the Texas and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and Canada. She has served as the official physician for many professional athletic teams and maintains a diverse practice - family and pediatric care, sports injuries, auto injuries, and many chronic or difficult cases, including the management of arthritis and fibromyalgia.
She is an active resident of The Woodlands, serving as a member of the American Business Women's Association and volunteering for many local chamber and charity functions.
Dr. Dawn Schwab
After completing undergraduate studies in Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Dr. Dawn Schwab attended Texas Chiropractic College, were she was awarded her Doctorate in Chiropractic. During her studies, she completed an orthopedic surgical rotation at Hermann Hospital and an internship at the Texas Chiropractic College Public Clinic in Pasadena. Upon receiving her doctorate she entered private practice in Houston, maintaining a broad-based family practice.
During her years of private practice, Dr. Schwab continued studies in the rehabilitation of injuries and the treatment of aging and disabled patients. Her experience in treating difficult chronic conditions, such as cerebral palsy, and her affinity for helping patients of all ages makes her a popular speaker for schools and civic organizations.
Dr. Schwab is a diplomate of both the Texas and National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and is licensed to practice in Texas and Washington State.
She has been a resident of Houston all of her life, relocating her home and her practice to The Woodlands in January 2000. Deeply involved in the community, Dr. Schwab served as a member of the Business Women's Forum, an Adjunct Faculty Member at Montgomery and Houston Community Colleges, and regularly volunteered at many local chamber and charity functions. She is currently an active member of the South Montgomery County Woodlands Chamber of Commerce.
In April of 2008, Dr. Schwab was nominated and chosen as one of Houston’s TOP Chiropractors by H Texas Magazine for 2008.
Dr. Ronald Grabowski, R.D., D.C.
Dr. Grabowski is a professor and postgraduate diplomate lecturer at the Texas Chiropractic College (TCC) in Pasadena, Texas, and a practicing Doctor of Chiropractic in Houston, Texas. He has presented over 500 seminars and lectures on nutrition throughout the United States and in Europe, publishing several articles and a textbook in clinical nutrition.
Receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition from North Dakota State University, he went on to be awarded his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas in 1989. His dietitian experience includes tenure at some of the leading hospitals in the nation - The New York Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York City (affiliated with Cornell Medical Center), Memorial Care System and the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Grabowski has served on the State of Texas Governor’s Childhood Obesity Taskforce and is a member of the American Dietetic Association, American Chiropractic Association and the Endocrine Society. In addition to his teaching responsibilities and chiropractic practice, he has developed numerous vitamin and mineral formulas for supplement companies. Professional athletes, including those of Olympic standing, seek his expertise in nutrition consultation.
His research interests include nutritional support of the athlete and the use of supplements in clinical practice for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, fibromyalgia and gastrointestinal disorders.
Sue Watkins, M.A., LMFT
Sue Watkins is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. She received her masters in Marriage, Family and Child Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary and maintained a private practice in California for over 16 years.
After moving to Texas with her family, Sue was on staff at a local church and was acting executive director for prominent non-profit organization. A recent addition to the Spinal Care Chiropractic Team, Sue thrives on helping patients achieve their goals of emotional and spiritual health.
An issue of special interest to Sue is working with and helping those with chronic pain. Having fibromyalgia for 15 years, she intimately understands the frustration and adjustment in life that is required of patients suffering from chronic pain issues.
Dr. Watkins offers group and individual sessions, tailored to you specific needs, with a specialized focus on the causes and treatments of fibromyalgia, changing our thought patterns about pain, and setting specific goals for recovery.
Diane Hennigan, Certified Pilates Instructor
Diane Hennigan comes to the Spinal Care Chiropractic team with over a decade of experience as an ACE certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. Since 1999, Diane has been teaching Pilates, and has witnessed first-hand the amazing transformations that Pilates has affected in her clients’ lives with improved strength, coordination, balance and flexibility. Diane received her Stott Pilates certification in 2007.
Combining her personalized approach with the latest Pilates and physical fitness techniques and equipment, Diane develops personalized fitness plans to accommodate everyone from first-timers to injury/recovery clients to Olympic-level athletes.
Both Diane’s dedication to, and philosophy behind, physical fitness are best summed-up in a quote from Pilates founder and creator, Joseph Pilates: "To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of life, we must strive to acquire strong, healthy bodies and develop our minds to the limit of our ability."
Theresa McPeak, Certified Pilates Instructor
Theresa McPeak began her career as a personal trainer and physical fitness expert in 1995. Her personal drive to increase her “skills and knowledge in the field of health and fitness” led her to serious study of the methods and practices of Joseph Pilates. Theresa is an accredited Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor with the American Council on Exercise. Theresa served as a personal trainer and the Fitness Coordinator for The Woodlands Country Club.
Theresa strives to help clients improve their strength, flexibility, and overall quality of life by instilling a greater appreciation for the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Her sessions are based on the principles of Joseph Pilates which help build strength and flexibility without adding bulk. Theresa finds that Pilates exercise which incorporates the use of state-of-the-art Allegro Towers as well as smaller apparatus such as Bosu balls and a Pilates Chair also contribute to a heightened body awareness and better coordination. Theresa really looks forward to being a part of Spinal Care Chiropractic Center.
